ChangoMango

A great spot! Just across the street from Baja Joe's beach, ChangoMango is a great little hotel. It's more than a hostel, although it has shared (very clean gender-separated) bathrooms. Each room is a little pod with a bed, power outlets and STRONG air conditioning you can control on your own. The hotel has a pool, a media room and a coworking space. A highlight is their bar and restaurant. They have a delicious kitchen serving up local favorites, coffee, smoothies and EXCELLENT BURGERS. I enjoyed returning from kitesurfing and ordering a burger and beer then getting cleaned up, by the time I was in my after kiting attire, a juicy burger awaited me at my favorite table. The facilities are clean, comfortable and staffed by a FRIENDLY crew. A great home away from home and excellent option for a group, a couple of to arrive on your own to make new friends!

Love the hotel and accommodations. Simple and straightforward. Love the heated pool. The host showed us everything when we arrived.

This place is so fun and comfortable. The vibe is more hostel-like, with communal living, but your suite is personal. You receive a personal barrel suite complete with a bed, outlets, and an AC unit. The room was very comfortable, and we were facing the pool, which I didn't use, but it looked nice for the hot weather we traveled in November. It was a bit chilly. Bathrooms are shared with other hotel patrons; they have a women's and a men's section, and the showers and toilets are also separate. The hotel has a bar, which I don't drink at, but they do serve coffee, and I had a latte every morning; they were delicious. The hotel is very conveniently located and easily accessible. There is a lovely little terrace to watch the sunsets.

Great location if you’re here for kiting - super close to the main kite areas. I tried the burger at the restaurant and it was tasty and satisfying. What really stood out was the super friendly and welcoming staff. They make you feel comfortable right away. Would come back!

We stopped by ChangoMango to check out the place when looking for a hostel to stay for the night. As soon as we were greeted by Jack, the manager, we knew we wanted to stay here. Everything is clean and looks new (pods, toilets and showers), there’s a nice pool in the middle of the property and a restaurant with an outdoor bar. There’s also a nice common area TV room perfect for watching a football game or a movie on a quiet night. The view on the cactus field from the pods on the second floor is beautiful and there’s also a terrasse up there for drinking a coffee in the morning or reading a book in the afternoon. The pods are small so the A/C works great and cools the pod in a matter of seconds. There’s more than enough space for your luggage under the bed, and some tablets for storing your things during your stay. All the pods have an electronic lock for which you choose your own code when checking-in which is quite nice because you don’t have to carry your room key around everywhere. Jack went out of his way for us to have a nice stay, from bringing towels up to the room for us to recommending the best restaurants and spots for watching the sunset (ask him about the cactus trail). Really good vibes, the volunteers were all really nice (shoutout to Omid, Loïs and Emma), we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the place.

Visiting La Ventana with friends for some wing foiling. Found Changomango through a recommendation and stopped for their Chango Burger. Without a doubt, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The owner and staff treated us like we were long time friends. If you’re ever in La Ventana or El Sargento, stop by for some delicious food, served by great people, in an amazing location.

Really great spot right across the street from the beach (2 minutes on foot) with super compact pods and shared, very clean shared bathrooms. Perfect for me. It’s full of fellow wind sports people and Jack, the manager, runs an excellent operation with lovely staff.

We only ate at their restaurant but our breakfasts were very good. I had their crepes and my husband had an omelet. Their servings were generous and great flavor. Miren came over and talked to us for a few minutes. She was pleasant. We will go back.
